You don’t need to be a member of the family to access my mock inspection, audit and other occasional services, useful for one-off and/or annual events. However, members do get a discount of around half and have the advantage that my longer-term familiarity with their service will lead to greater accuracy.
If, following any of the services below I feel particularly impressed by your service, for whatever reason(s), I’ll give you a testimonial statement and a widget for your website you can use if you like, even if you’re not a family member. If applicable, I’ll also update your directory blurb with my positive feedback and particular things that might appeal to people.
Where the cost depends on location, the cheaper rate usually applies to services that don’t require an overnight stay to get a reliable working day. If you’re in SE London or very close by we can potentially even negotiate a very special rate.
It might also apply to services in locations I particularly want to visit, so if you have a good museum or something locally then do mention this in your contact form. 🙂

Mock inspection
Usually from £999 or £1199 for a small DCA office or residential context depending on location (£500 and £600 for family members) this inspection-style audit includes one day on site, remote document review and a report considering the evidence in the light of the CQC’s current framework. If required, the report will include suggested action.
If your service requires longer remote review time, the cost is typically from £1499 or £1699(£750 or £850 for family) or from £1999 to £2499 with longer site visits.
The VERY thorough audit
If you want me to come in and look at everything in detail – by which I mean I (and a team if needed) will go through every aspect of your paperwork and processes like a physick, check your housekeeping standards like a mother-in-law, visit clients in their homes, whatever is needed, then that is rather more intense and takes longer. The report will be detailed, evidenced and refer directly to the Regulations or other guidance as relevant.
This would be a bespoke arrangement, but as a guide, a small supported living or residential context with 6 people or less would typically be £2999 (£1500 family rate). A small home care provider (12 clients or less) £1999 (£1000). A larger care home with dementia (40+ rooms) would be £5999 (£3000).
Friendly review
If you’re confident that you and your gorgeous quality assurance team are doing well, then you may just need a friendly review – your nice auntie rather than your mother-in-law! I’ll visit your location for a leisurely day or two, talk to clients and staff, and be taken through your processes and audits. I’ll then share my feedback at the end of the day, and write you a summary you can share with potential clients and commissioners if you like.
If your service is small enough for a one day visit, this costs £499 or £599 depending on your location. (£250 and £300 with family discount). If you need a two day visit, £899 or £999 (£400 and £500).
Factual Accuracy Challenges
If you think your inspector has got it completely wrong, I can help you explore the decisions made and the kind of evidence you would need to have to prove your case. This would be a bespoke arrangement depending on your situation, but prices would start at £399 (or £200 family).
Recovery Check
Following a bad inspection or quality check outcome, an external opinion on your improvement work is very useful indeed. This would be a bespoke arrangement depending on your situation.
Annual quality survey
A potentially very useful service for small busy providers – I (and a team if necessary) will conduct your annual quality assurance survey(s) for you and produce a report and action plan. This would of course need to be bespoke, tailored to your service size, type and the accessibility needs of your clients and/or staff.
