Care home fire trial collapses
A trial into alleged breaches of fire safety regulations by four companies involved in the design, risk assessment, management and maintenance of the former Beechmere retirement village in Crewe has collapsed. Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service brought the prosecutions following the blaze in August 2019 which destroyed a care home which housed around 150 residents.(Construction Enquirer)
Coggeshall care home fire: woman being treated for burns
EMERGENCY services have confirmed a woman is being treated for burns after a fire broke out at retirement flats in Coggeshall. Three fire engines, five ambulances, and two police cars are attended the scene, as well as an air ambulance. (Braintree & Witham Times)
